In all workshops there is a planned accessible induction training for new people including:
- Introduction to staff and the site facilities
- Fire Safety
- Health and Safety
- Service User Agreement
This induction is on a one to one basis and is individually tailored to the persons needs.
Each service user has an individual meeting with the workshop staff for a 'review' of their progress including issues such as:
- Timekeeping
- Attendance
- Ability to carry out agreed tasks
- Engagement with staff and other service users
These reviews can help identify the persons strengths and support needs for this project and also if they decide to go onto volunteering / employment we can then provide a reference.
There are also links with Kingston College and the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames employment support team, Kingston Workstart, to provide external training and support into volunteering and work.
