What a crazy time this has been for all of us but we are happy to announce that we have reopened!
When lockdown was put into place we were worried about how our community would cope as many of the people we support have learning difficulties and would struggle with feeling isolated. We used to meet at our centre to socialise and run activities, instead we shifted to offering regular phone calls, going on walks and delivering fun things to keep busy. Within the last six months we have had to deal with a number of hurdles. Supporting people at a distance and moving into a new premises.
However, we have found a light and airy new space at Searchlight Community Centre which brings many new and fun possibilities. We would also like to give a huge thank you to Mencap for helping make this happen. “It has been a difficult summer but our community has supported each other and we look forward to seeing what we can achieve together in our new home.” Chris Williamson, Project Co-ordinator.
